<Un-defined> is a typography project started from questioning the categories and identities of types. What Does it mean to be defined and categorised in the society?
It explores the categorisation in typography, types decide the tone of the text and impact the message that are written with.
The starting point of this project was based on my experience, I wanted to hide my handwiting for a warning letter and mimicked how old man would write. I didn’t want to be addressed as who I am socially, a girl. It gave me an insight of how typography can be related to social categories, how social context applies to graphic design.
<Un-defiend> tries to break the rules of traditional categorisation of types and create its own identity. It is u inspired from black mails in a movie, how they cut out letters from magazines or news letters and colleague them to hide who they are. As a result it creates undefinable identity of types which denies to belong to any of social categories.
